Rules of Play

Pinseekers Rules Of Play            July 2022

  1. The basic rules of play are defined online in VG&CC Rule No. 1.14, “GOLF FACILITIES”.
  2. Any disputes, questions, or requests for clarification of rules that may arise during the Pinseekers play shall be directed to the Director of Golf for resolution.
  3. Pinseekers shall play as Pinseekers, on the days and tee times allocated to the Pinseekers by the Director of Golf and/or the Club Board.
  4. Any Villages resident or non-resident may join Pinseekers play as a guest of a Pinseekers member if there is space available. Guests will not pay sweeps nor qualify for prizes. The Pinseekers Board of Directors shall be responsible for designating any Guest Days and any special guest rules that may apply.
  5. When the Red Flag is flown by the Pro Shop (meaning that all powered carts must remain on the paved paths), all Pinseekers may still play, following the established rules. But as usual, sweeps will occur only if at least the minimum number of players with GHIN handicaps (10) show up.
  6. All players shall hit from the same set of tees, except as may be designated by the Pinseekers Board of Directors due to age or handicap.
  7. No mulligans (second chance to make a good stroke) unless in a special event.
  8. Any player who picks up his ball without completing a hole shall take a score of 10, the maximum number of strokes that can be taken on any hole.
  9. A player is automatically assessed greens fees if he completes at least 4 holes. A player may elect to stop play at any time during the round, but if he does not complete the round (at least by taking a 10 on all uncompleted holes), his score will not be recorded, and he will not be charged the sweeps fee, and he will not be eligible for prizes.
  10. It is expected that, unless otherwise agreed to by the Pinseekers Board of Directors, the Pro Shop will issue a printed score card for each Pinseeker who signs up for sweeps at least a day before the play day. If a player signs up late, he may be required to make out his own card and notify the Pro Shop. Each player shall give his card to another player in his group to record his scores, and both of those players must sign each card when completed.
  11. Unless otherwise agreed to by the Pinseekers Board of Directors, after play the Pro Shop will collect the cards turned in, enter the scores into the GHIN system, and later notify the Pinseekers by email about the sweeps info for that day.
